Disappointed
The venue is lovely, but in a dicey part of town with absolutely NO parking. Todd Rundgren was great鈥tarted right on time and played for an hour. Kaleo鈥檚 band is incredible by the way. Kaleo came on singing Dreamtime, a good solo song. The rest of his set was mostly unfamiliar solo stuff. I鈥檓 told at the end (we left) that he did a couple of Hall and Oates songs and closed with Todd singing along on another. North Philly is not a place where you want to leave your car for hours and have to walk to late at night. It was clear this was a diehard Philly crowd鈥e鈥檝e been following these guys since the 70鈥檚. I totally understand promoting new releases, but I think many of us were disappointed. Just throw your loyal fans a bone and mix in music they know. Kaleo still sounds great, and the venue has great energy.
